Description

Charming describes what you will find when you arrive at Stone Quarry. This is an amazing retreat that you will want to linger at for hours even with so many amenities and things to do in the area. The fresh air and quiet give you an R&R feeling you won't forget!  Energetic folks enjoy the hike to the top of the hill for panoramic views across Ithaca taking in Ithaca College, Cornell and Cayuga Lake.

Stone Quarry offers three options, the stone cottage, the tower cottage and the apartment.  Comfort reigns in the bedrooms with superior mattresses - a Tempurpedic in the stone cottage, a Restonic innerspring mattress with a memory foam mattress topper in the apartment, and a Southard organic latex mattress with a thick organic wool and cotton pillowtop layer in the tower cottage.  Each space is furnished with Stickley Mission furniture, oriental carpets, superior linens and towels.

The property is managed with sustainabiltiy in mind, from design and construction to housekeeping -  28,000 watts of solar power, locally harvested oak flooring and woodwork, soy foam insulation, stone from local quarries, customed designed local ironwork, glasswork, and photography, heat-pump cooling and heating and a waterless toilet in the tower, on-demand hot water in the stone cottage.  Sheets are hung on the clothesline for freshness and all cleaning is done with simple, hypo-allergenic products.

Master bedroom features full-size memory foam bed for ultimate comfort plus flat screen TV. Relax before the wood-burning fireplace (or the flat-screen TV) on comfortable Stickley Mission chairs with footstools.  The comfortable sofa opens out to become a surpisingly comfortable queen size bed.

The apartment offers a fully stocked kitchen with cookware, dishes, etc, equipped with high-end appliances, table service and cutlery, and Keurig Vue beverage machine with an assortment of coffees, teas, cocoa and apple juice.
