The Blue Parrot is a superbly outfitted cottage overlooking the mouth of the Deben in the village of Bawdsey. The cottage itself is a stones throw from the beach but possesses a fenced garden at the front and a private back garden making it ideal for families. The sailing is excellent on the tidal estuary for those with nautical leanings and the area is renowned for its wildlife great for keen ornithologists or simply those who enjoy walking through beautiful countryside. The quiet lanes make for pleasurable and safe walks and cycle rides with plenty of pubs at hand able to provide a beer, lunch or dinner.
A regular and reliable bus service takes you the 4 miles to the market town of Woodbridge (or 3 miles by sail) and all the way to Ipswich which is only 20 miles away. Additionally, a passenger launch berths within walking distance and crosses the Deben to Felixstowe several times daily. The Blue Parrot is a comfortable and well located base for anyone looking to holiday near the Suffolk coast. Pets are allowed by arrangement.
