The property was built in 1810 by Samuel Jordan, who was a brick-layer and the Jailer of Glasgow at the time. He originally built the house for Mr. Giddings who was a School Master in Glasgow. But, shortly after the house was finished Thomas Childs Dickinson bought the house and someone from the Dickinson family lived in it until the turn of the century. When Delvaux Dickinson Greer passed away the house was eventually deeded to the city with the intent of turning it into office space. But no one was interested in using it for an office so, around 2008 my friends Karin and Gary Carroll asked the city if they could buy it and turn it into a bed and breakfast. She talked me into moving from Denver, CO to take it over in 2018.
I am so happy to own Main Street Bed and Breakfast. I enjoy being able to connect with my guests in so many ways. My dog Lulu also seems to enjoy meeting all of my guests. She is a part of the whole experience. I am a mother and grand-mother, but they all live in Albuquerque, NM so it's fun when I can act as Nana to my guest's kids. I am also involved with a lot of networking and charity organizations in town that help with my connections for my guests.
Just a block from the Historic Plaza Theatre and the downtown square. Barren County #1 Place to Live in Rural America and Glasgow Top 100 Cities for Youth in America 3 current years in a row.

Excellent

The location was very good, easy to reach and also very close to eateries and shopping. The breakfast was excellent. Cherie makes the breakfast right there and serves it at the dining table. Really home made! We stayed two nights, so enjoyed breakfasts both days which were different. One evening instead of going out to eat, we decided to have take out. Cherie was very gracious and let us use dishes and glasses. We sat on the porch, enjoyed the meal and had a great time!

Wonderful experience.

Cherie’s place is an historic gem, her breakfast was delicious and she is the consummate hostess. She gave us the suggestion of A Little Taste of Texas for dinner and it also far exceeded expectations.

Everything was perfect.

Cherie\'s provides an amazing breakfast that we enjoyed, while visiting with other guests.

Superb

We loved our stay at Main Street bed and breakfast. It was so nice to stay somewhere other than your typical hotel room. Cheri cooked us a wonderful breakfast. She sat down with us and we had a nice conversation.

Great place to stay.

The place was great. Just what we needed for a relaxing weekend getaway. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely plan on returning in the future.

Wonderful stay in Glasgow, KY.

Cherie is a wonderful host. Her morning breakfast was a treat and a great start to our day. We were in Glasgow for a week and every morning she provided a delicious creation usually including fresh eggs from the chickens out back. Our room was spacious with plenty of storage space. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Kentucky.

We had a wonderful time and will recommend it

The breakfast was wonderful. Cherie was a great host and shared lots of local information. The room and especially the bed were comfortable. We received an upgrade for not extra cost. It was in a fantastic location to local shops and restaurants.

We had a wonderful time.

The house was very nice. It was central for what we wanted to do. The breakfasts were very good. Breakfast was at a reasonable time. We were given a key to the house just in case we came in late. We got there about 20 minutes before our arrival time and Cheri hurried & finished cleaning our room so we could go ahead & get settled. The bathroom was a decent size and the water pressure was great.
