Summer bookings need to be 4 nights or more. The rates for holiday weekends Could be slightly higher than quoted rates.
There is also a neighboring 3 bedroom house which sleeps 9 this works well for family reunions etc. This house is also available for rent and gets a slightly lower rate.
Approximately an hour from Chicago. Hudson Lake only 75 miles SE of Chicago. This recently rebuilt Luxury Cottage  is anything but ordinary. Comfortable style with a fully equipped kitchen. 500 sq ft of decks, an 80 foot pier, and a swim raft.  There is also a beach house for grilling and relaxing closer to the beach, easy way to keep an eye on the kids.We supply bed linens and bath towels. You will need to provide beach towels. There are three TVs with DVD players. Washer and dryer are provided on site. There is central A/C and heat. Large driveway provides off-street parking for at least 4 vehicles and room for your boat trailer, so just bring food & drinks & you're set! Beach, boating, and BBQ are all right here!  Historic New Carlisle, Parks, antique shops, groceries shopping, Bowling alley & great places to eat are nearby. It is also easy to access downtown Chicago as the South Shore Train stop is approximately 1 mile from the house. We are located on an 600 acre all sports lake that is great for fishing too! Luxury bathrooms & a 2 person soaking tub in the master suite. We also have a front yard fire pit & fishing poles for you to use. Home is near Three Oaks Century bike trail and is perfectly located for biking. 6 miles to New Buffalo beaches, shops, and restaurants and Four Winds Casino resort. 5 miles to artsy Three Oaks, Michigan, and its art galleries, theater and independent movie theater. Golf at Whitaker Woods Golf Course, or Briar Leaf Golf Course. 8 courses within 15 miles. Outlet shopping in Michigan City. Nature hikes at nearby Spicer Preserve. 15 miles to Notre Dame University. 2 miles to Heston Steam Train museum. Minutes to apple picking,peach, blueberry and pumpkin farms. Feels like Wisconsin. Similar to Paw Paw Lake or Twin Sister's Lake in Michigan. One of the nearest recreational lake south of Chicago, IL. This is the perfect spot for a reunion of friends or family. Also a favorite for Notre Dame visitors, game weekends and weddings. No smoking, will consider pets.

great lake house


Nice home with space for family members to spread out. Boat dock for small boats and owner allowed us to use kayaks and paddleboards, which was fun. Lake is clean, low traffic even on a holiday weekend (4th of July). Fresh eggs from the chickens living on site were a bonus!

Great family mini-vacation!


Three generations of our family had a wonderful time on Hudson Lake. The house is spacious and well-appointed, and everyone had enough space. We had 6 adults and one infant. The area is quiet and there\'s very little traffic. The lake is beautiful and everyone enjoyed going in the water. We used the outdoor grill to cook dinner every night. The baby loved the aqua lily pad and the chickens! Fresh eggs were a bonus. Shari and Gary were very pleasant to deal with and responsive to our needs (which were minimal). Our two dogs also had a great time! We hope to return!

Fantastic get-away


We had 10 adults and 4 little ones at this house for a reunion weekend in August. It was the perfect choice. There was plenty of room for everyone and lots to do. We enjoyed a lot of the time at the lake. In the evening we were able to get down to the \"beach house\" to get away from the kiddos so we didn\'t wake them while we enjoyed some adult card/game playing. Shari answered any concerns we had promptly and was very nice and easy to deal with. We even called her and asked her where we could buy firewood and she just brought us some. Highly recommend!

Great Family Vacation - fun for everyone


We spent a great family vacation and found Shari\'s home a wonderful place to have an opportunity for everyone to enjoy our time together. Shari was very nice to work with along with her son who was also very friendly and helpful. They were very responsive to any item we might need. We had 10 adults & a 2 year old. We were able to enjoy the beach, as well as playing games on the lawn, and cookouts every night. The \"Jabba the Hut\" was a great plus. We were able to play cards & games without waking up our grandson. Our grandson loved the chickens. Multiple TVs and places with front and back decks to talk, without disturbing others who might still be sleeping. We would look to coming back again next year. Shari is great!
