Description

This 5 bedroom cedar cottage with a queen size pull out in the living room has WIFI throughout as well as TV DVD in all bedrooms. This family home has been upgraded  with new Air-Conditioning, new furnace, new pump, additional cupboards in the kitchen for pantry storage, 2 refrigerators in the kitchen, newly renovated bathrooms and continuation of our lovely landscaping with gradual steps to the boathouse.  We have added a housekeeper as well as property manager that can help you at any time.

This lovely property has short 6 steps leading you down from the parking area across an interlocking brick pathway to the Lake Muskoka Cottage entrance.

The lovely Lake Muskoka views begin right away and follow you throughout this 2 level cottage with bedrooms on both levels.

Unloading is a breeze as there is a large entrance way to hold belongings as you get ready to settle in.

The kitchen is handy right beside the front door. Here you will find all the necessary appliances -2 fridges, stove, dishwasher and microwave, even a washer and dryer tucked into large cupboards - for some that may mean out of sight, out of mind! The beautiful Italian stone flooring brings the idea of nature inside.

As you stand at the sink you will notice the huge picture window that looks out on the tall cedar trees and a large granite boulder - you are in Muskoka after all. A cedar lined wall compliments the lovely new pebble stone tile flooring.

The other direction from the front door leads you into the living room which has a cathedral ceiling and a lovely granite wood burning fireplace.

Atop the mantle sits a flat screen TV and DVD player. Comfortable couches and chairs make this room very cozy and inviting. There is a desk here as well in case you need to access the wireless internet.

Next you can't help but notice the gorgeous dining room and sitting room area that has a Lake Muskoka view in 3 different directions. The outer wall is all windows, most complete with screens to let in the lovely fresh Muskoka air. The dining table seats everyone comfortably, the sitting area has 3 couches and there is even a round table with 3 wickers chairs that beckons you for morning coffee.

The master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a 4 piece en suite bathroom is on this main level as well. A large window affords a Lake Muskoka view from the bed and small ceiling height windows above the bed allow the natural light to flow in.

A stairway from the living room leads up to the second level. These stairs are carpeted with the same carpeting that is throughout the cottage. This continuity is welcoming and very tasteful.

There are 4 bedrooms upstairs - 1 with a double bed, 2 with queen sized beds and one with a single bed, as well as a double pull out. Once you are on the landing the open concept design allows you to look down on the living room and windows in the cathedral peak let in tons of natural light and a view that is straight up Lake Muskoka. The newly renovated bathroom on this level is a 3 piece with a shower. There is also a powder room with toilet and sink on the ground level.

There is plenty of closet space and windows giving lovely views of either the trees or the lake from each of these bedrooms.

There are 2 pull out sofas- one on each floor for extra sleeping arrangements ( queen size in living room and double size upstairs)

Let's head outside across the interlocking brick patio and get closer to the lake we have been seeing since we arrived.

Outdoor furniture on this patio makes a great spot to sit and watch the children play on a flat rock that leads us onto the dock of a brand new double boathouse. You can jump off the dock here into the lake where the depth at the end of the dock is about 5-6'. On top is a 31x26' deck - and a hot tub!

Additional patio furniture can be enjoyed here while you admire the delightful view of Lake Muskoka.

Also along the water front is another dock where you could tie up a boat if you chose to rent from the nearby marina. Swimming is possible from this dock as well as the two swim rafts. Enjoy the sunset from the boathouse deck and start planning for tomorrow - shall we take out the paddleboat or kayaks or canoe or stand up paddleboard (SUP) here at the cottage or head over for an historic ride on the Segwun Steamship, only a short 10 minute drive away.

This is a cottage where family memories are made.

Terrific Family Cottage

Very convenient location, wonderful outdoor space, well-equipped kitchen, and lots of seating--an excellent cottage for a multi-generational family vacation.

Great stay, with a few caveats

We had two families (nine people) stay for one week. The good: The waterfront is excellent, 11 out of 10. The water gets deep fast, but the children, aged seven to ten, all had a great time swimming with their life jackets on. We spent most of the days down by the water and it was beautiful. It was awesome to see the sunset over the lake. It was also really nice that the cottage is so close to town, it was easy to shop and get groceries. .

Memorable stay

This place was awesome! We had 11 people from age 67 to 1. The kitchen was not pictured on the site and was small for our size group with all the cooking we did , but was well-stocked and the house was very clean. The star of Viewpoint is the exterior space and all the amenities. The grounds are beautiful and private , with flowers everywhere and it’s on a point with views all around . There were many water toys -pedal boat, kayaks , stand up paddleboard . Two docks with chairs for seating and dining , and also above the boathouse, a hot tub, dining and seating. There were two rafts and the kids loved swimming there ( life jackets provided) and diving off of it - they never even used the playground. There was not a sandy slope to the beach but there was a small sandy area where the younger kids played. Inside had some wonderful views as well, and lots of comfortable seating. We couldn’t have asked for better weather -it was warm enough to swim but not so hot we needed the A/C . Lots of sun too. There was only one day of rain on the way up there. Being from Colorado , we aren’t used to those mosquitoes at dusk but the owner does use a natural garlic spray on the shrubbery to hopefully repel them. Donna was very responsive to any questions or concerns that I had, as was her housekeeper Niki. We even went duckpin bowling at a nearby town , something none of us have ever experienced before and it was a blast.
