The space
Natural living, pristine nature and family feeling. The rooms are simple and clean. The cottage has three rooms, each with space for 2-3 guests. One double bed and one mattress on the loft in two of the rooms. The washroom close by has a cold shower and toilets. cottage is surrounded by a peaceful fruit garden. You can hear the soft sound of the river close by. Since we are far from big cities, silence and stargazing are some of the luxuries we can offer.

We also have space for tents and hammocks in pristine nature along the white river.
Be prepared to walk on unpaved paths and bring a flashlight since the paths are not lit.

Guest access
We are a small Rasta community living together. You are welcomed as part of the family. We share most of the meals together but if you would like to be private you have the opportunity to eat on the veranda by your room.
There are many beautiful hikes around our area including the one along the white river to Victoria falls and ancient trails through the pristine forest. We have certified guides.
The trails to Victoria falls and River Jack falls are beautiful hikes along the rivers. The glasse trail a 15 minute drive from here will take you to some beautiful natural saltwater pools by the sea. There is also the breathtaking Chemin Letang a 30 minutes drive from here which takes you from the east side of the island to the freshwater lake. And at riviere cyrique you can climb down to a secret beach with a waterfall.
Moses sons Israel and Junior are certified guides.

Interaction with guests
We like to share our "Rasta way of life" with you. We are a tribe of many colors living together in harmony with nature. We grow most of our vegetables ourselves and our water comes from a spring in the mountain. Ras Moses is a Herbalist and bush doctor and has lived most of his life in the valley and knows all there is to know about the "Rasta way of life". His book " Herbal Medicine" is for sale with a special written dedication from him as a gift or memory from your stay here.
Some evenings we do drumming by the fire and if you are interested in gardening we are happy to take you for a tour through our herbal and vegetable garden.

Other things to note
Please be aware that the road to Delices is closed from the Petit Savanne side. This is since the storm Erica in september 2015. From Roseau you need to drive over Pond Casse via La Plaine to Delices.

You will find ATM's in Roseau, Marigot and Portsmouth. We don't take cards. Please bring cash.
Moses will cook breakfast Rasta style with local bread and herbal tea. Also dinner is available but please bring snacks and fruits since there isn't a good shop around.

Recommendable

200% recommendable. Two days of pure nature and tranquility. We will be back for sure!!

wonderful host

Unique opportunity to live in a beautiful unspoilt situation in the forest right by a river which flows down from Victoria falls (you can walk up the river to the falls). Moses is a wonderful host who will make you feel like a friend, a larger than life character who embodies the spirit of Rastafarianism, living in harmony with the natural world and welcoming all comers into his home. Dominica has been badly hit by Hurricane Maria and before that Erica and you can plainly see the damage to the roads, houses and the forest but Moses and his extended family continue to live in this beautiful valley and to visit them is a great way to help them get back on their feet. In return you will get a unique perspective on the country and can learn about the healing properties of many different herbs and plants. The set up is not luxurious eg there is no hot water or wi-if but there are other, rarer luxuries on offer here - the water is fresh from the spring and the air is the purest you are likely to breathe. The wooden house is very nice with lovely views from the verandah. The double bedroom with mezzanine floor and further bed is cosy and comfortable with electricity on a generator at night. Moses is a great cook and will make you breakfast and dinner using fresh ingredients picked directly from his garden. Vegetarians/vegans welcome. By the time you leave, you will be super relaxed and chilled.

Great

It was a very special stay with Moses and his family. We are grateful to have met them and experience life with them in the bush. The setting is rustic, natural and beautiful. We found it very restful. The island of Dominica was devastated by Hurricane Maria and is slowly rebuilding itself. We recommend checking with Moses as to what amenities will be available during your stay. A special thank you to Junior for his care and concern when we had a health issue that required a trip to the hospital. all is well now.

Lovely
