Description

We would love to have you come and enjoy our home built off our family farm. We are in the heart of Amish country, making our house a perfect location for families visiting Lancaster County. With Country Housewares (locally called Amish Walmart) 200 ft down the road, the traffic on our back road consists of more buggies than cars. The quiet, peaceful setting will facilitate a relaxing stay. From our front lawn, we have a beautiful view overlooking our Amish neighbor's chicken and produce farm. We are only minutes from the popular Lancaster towns of Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse.

Our house includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Our large upstairs kitchen, with the small basement kitchen, provides place to accommodate a larger family or group. Our full size basement is a great place for family games, quilting bees, scrap-booking, etc.

With our parent's cornfield behind the house, our backyard is a quiet place to enjoy the night sky or sit around a small campfire.

Local produce, fresh eggs, and bake goods can be purchased a mile down the road at our Amish neighbor's roadside stand. Also, children will love the Hayloft Candle Barn's petting zoo and their creamy home made ice cream.

Shannon and I were born and raised in Lancaster County. I was raised on the 8th generation family farm that borders our house. As for Shannon, all her growing up years were spent on her parent's chicken farm only five miles down the road. So as high-school sweethearts, Lancaster County was all we ever knew until 2016 when God led us to teach at a Bible College in southern Indiana. Now with our seven children, we spend the school term in Indiana and come back "home" to Lancaster for the summer months. So when we're gone, our house is open for others to enjoy!!!

Chris & Shannon Lapp purchased this House in 2004

Why Chris & Shannon Lapp chose Leola

My grandparents built the house off the family farm as their retirement property. In the 90's, my older brother bought the house from our grandparents. Then in 2004, when my brother moved on the family farm, we had the opportunity to buy the home. So with the cornfield as our back property line, I never really moved off the farm. Being surrounded by both of our families, the picturesque setting, and the peaceful Lancaster county culture, there's no place we'd rather live. So because we've been so blessed, we'd be delighted to have you experience the setting we've been privileged to call home.

What makes this House unique

We'd love to have you stay at our home!!! With farmland in front and behind us, you'll love the peace and quiet. The great view from our front yard of the neighbor's produce farm will take you back it time. The idyllic setting is hard to beat and will make for a relaxing vacation!!!

Bring your quilting, sewing, or scrapbooking group and spread out in our spacious basement. Be sure to visit our quilt/fabric (Family Farm Quilts 3511 West Newport Rd. Ronks, PA 1757) shop just 5 minutes away in the town of Intercourse.

With the popular Amish towns of Intercourse and Bird-in-Hand only a few minutes away, our home is perfectly located for easy access to all the tourist attractions. Because Dutch Wonderland, Cherry Crest Farm, and Sight and Sound are so close by, our home is a great place to stay for a family vacation. With seven children of our own, our house is kid-friendly and perfect for a family of any size.

So bring your family, experience real Lancaster county among the Amish, de-stress from the busy pace of life, and make family memories that will last forever!!!!

Guest Reviews

beautiful home and area

It\'s a vey nice home with lots if room for our kids to play inside and outside. The kids loved the house very much. We enjoyed watching the Amish go by and visited a few of the Amish shops around the area. Great central location to Philly, Lancaster, Hershey and Gettysburg.

Great Lancaster Experience

After numerous searches for a place to stay in the Lancaster area, I believe we struck gold in choosing this beautiful home. Centrally located in Leola, it was convenient to all the sights to see in Lancaster. This home is spotless with all the amenities need to make our stay memorable. There was a lovely area with a fire pit where we enjoyed making s’mores each night. A screened porch sitting area complemented the backyard, along with a gas barbecue grill - great for enjoying a meal while taking in the scenic landscape. Once back inside, relax on the living room couch, gazing out as the local farmer plows his field with his workhorses. In concluding this review, YES, we would stay here again- and anyone looking for a spacious house- This is the one!

Great stay in Lancaster County!

We loved our visit to Lancaster County. This house was the perfect fit for our family, with 2 grandparents, and 3 kids ages 5, 3, and 1. There was a pack and play and high chair for the baby, which were helpful. The kids LOVED playing \"school\" in the basement, and playing with the toys there too. We loved having horses and buggies go by the house all the time. The backyard was great, with the tire swing and playground. The house has a few quirks, but nothing worth taking away a star. And we were treated to canned peaches, raw milk, and granola when we arrived! 5 stars!

Home is spacious, modern and great for family gathering.

My 6 grandkids loved the large downstairs area, lots of play room. Kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, clean and up to date. Had a fantastic time.

Great location and amenities

Beautiful location, clean house, multiple amenities with kitchen supplies and plenty of towels. Very large house. No complaints at all.
