You'll find it's easy to make yourself comfortable in this gorgeous beach house with one of the best views and private locations on the island. This is the third summer our home has been open for rentals but much of the summer is reserved for our family. Our remodeled 6 bedroom, 6.5 bathroom retreat is ideal for your next vacation getaway. With 2 master suites on the upper floor, complete with private full bathrooms and marsh/ocean views in each, it's the perfect reverse floor plan for a large family, multiple families or to enjoy with all your friends. 4 additional bedrooms with private baths - 2 with queen beds, 1 with twin beds, 1 with bunk beds and trundle are located downstairs, flanking a large living/playroom with flat screen TV and game table that is a perfect retreat for the kids after a fun-filled day at the beach, which is a 2  minute cart ride away. 
 
Perched atop a dune ridge, this house boasts a large deck with additional space to dine and unwind. An additional family room with game table and porch with ping pong table downstairs is perfect for the children to play uninterrupted. The house has all the necessary equipment to make your stay as comfortable as possible – bikes, games, game table, ping pong table, etc. The fully stocked kitchen has new stainless steel appliances complete with granite countertops and a bar will keep everyone happy.  
 
Home is fully equipped with everything you need including spices & condiments, 12 beach towels & chairs, 7 adult bikes, 3 children bikes, Pac N Play, all paper products & toiletries, etc.

We LOVE Bald Head and the uniqueness of Middle Island.

We discovered BHI when we lived in New Jersey and really needed to get away from the hustle and bustle - that was in 1982 - we bought property on our first visit!  Then a house in 1990 and then in 2007 our home on Middle Island.  Best decision we've ever made.

We have two sons and daughter-in-laws and 7 grandchildren - everyone can't wait to spend time on the island!  Our place is perfect for all!

We love sharing our place with family, friends and renters and hearing about the wonderful memories made during visits.

When we're not on the island we're at our home in Savannah, GA or visiting the kids.

We hope you find a little piece of Paradise here like we have!

Perfect vacation home on Bald Head Island


Beautiful home with stunning views of the marsh and ocean. Easily accessible to the beach and nearby pools. Very private and natural surroundings. One of the best homes we’ve stayed in at Bald Head.

Amazing Marsh Views


I would like to thank Lynn & Joe Barnard for sharing their lovely home. All 12 of us had plenty of room to spread-out and enjoy. Lots to do including ping-pong tournaments, games, bikes for all sizes, riding the 3 golf carts, quiet corners for reading, great walks, of course, playing in the sand and riding waves on boogie-boards! All furnished by the Barnards. I\'ve never rented a home with such a well equipped kitchen - from spices to ice cream freezer and so many supplies furnished! The view from upstairs and the back deck is truly breath taking. The song of the painted bunting and the beauty of the ever changing marsh is something to never take for granted! Again, thank you for a wonderful Bald Head experience!

Lovely family house!


We had a wonderful stay with a multi-generational group at this beautifully-decorated, well-stocked house! Close to beach access, great marsh views, but slightly out of the main Bald Head summer hustle-bustle, which for us is a plus! Everything on the island is a quick golf cart trip though, for those who\'ve never visited. We\'ve stayed at many houses here over the years, and would return to this one in a heartbeat. Very helpful, responsive owners who take top-notch care of their property!

Treasured Memories 2016


This was our second time at the Barnard home. Everything was as wonderful as last year. The home is in a beautiful setting and the sunrises and sunsets are amazing. We are a family of 13 (children and grandchildren). Everyone enjoyed swimming,bicycling,surfing,bonfires on the Beach. The house is equipped with everything You might need or want. Lynn and Joe are gracious hosts and are always available, if you need them. Our stay was as wonderful as last year and we have added more unforgettable memories to our lives.
