The Nautilus is inspired by the classic movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Themed to reminisce submarine, the Nautilus features an upper-deck state-room with a Head (this is read “bedroom with bathroom” in ship lingo) with boilerplate spiral stairs to the main salon and galley (kitchen) at ground level. Exterior doors are available on both levels. The main salon/galley features a cozy electric fireplace, kitchenette and small dining table. Both levels feature limousine-style mood lighting for your romantic evenings at the beach.
OK, now the fine print: The Nautilus is located on the beachfront, but does not have a direct view of the beach. Also, the bathroom door is 24 inches wide and the spiral stairs are only 20 inches wide and are steep with 9 inch high steps. These could be physical challenges for some, and we want to fully disclose them. Now, go the the beach and enjoy!
With a key-coded front door, you can arrive as early or late as you wish at check-in time and disturb no one. Our kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, microwave, stove and oven, basic spices (salt/pepper, oil and oil spray, Italian season, garlic salt, onion powder, lemon pepper) dishes and baking sheets, blender, and pizza cutter. You might even discover the joys of washing your own dishes in warm soapy water, since we do not have a dishwasher! Other amenities include a shower stall in the bathroom, wifi, and coffee maker. Our managers Mike and Rosie live onsite and love to interact with guests, and will do whatever is necessary to make your stay pleasant.
Access the beach with excellent steps and handrails, or by driving down with your vehicle. Take some firewood and newspaper to enjoy a beachfire with the kids and roast marshmellows! Whether you enjoy hanging out at the Casino, or shopping for souvenirs up on Highway 101 (one block away), or beach combing...The Nautilus is your home away from home!
BRING BINOCULARS for your beach trip! From our location on the beach, you can watch ships, whales, people, birds, and vehicles stuck in the sand...great fun!

Our charge for extra guests (more than your reservation is booked for) is only $5/person/night, but if undeclared guests show up, the charge is $10/person/night.
